Without transportation, i'm not sure where we would be today. The is no chance that a lot of businesses would be as successful as they are today if they were still using a horse and buggy. my two careers were transportation manager and freight clerk. with out those two a lot of things would be very difficult because everyone would just be playing by ear instead of having someone that may actually be slightly intelligent help them. And we can also haul things that are rather large with freight operators because they can carry a lot more weight than cars.

Recently I have been asking my students to make connections between their personal lives/chosen careers and those careers they choose to research in class. I ask them to to think about how semi-random research can be tied to meaning for them, personally. This week, among other things, we have researched two careers in the Government and Public Administration cluster. I would like to know why students chose to research the careers they did and how they "connect" to their own chosen career.

My careers were Appraiser, and Real estate agents. These careers relate because once i could have built the house, being an architect, i could sell the house.

After researching careers in the Ag, Food, and Natural Resources cluster, you should be making connections between those careers and your day to day life. How does each of the two careers you learned about relate to your life? How does each of those careers relate to our community? How do they relate to, fit in to, or affect our nation in general?

The research that i did was on a tree trimmer and a forester. Both of these occupations have something to do with either cutting trees, or being involved in taking care of a wooded facility. They both may need to take care of any trees that are messed or need any assistance whatsoever. I cut wood a lot wood at home and use a chainsaw, which both of these people would use, in order to trim and cut the wood for our home. If these employees were not here to help out in our national parks and in any wildlife setting, they would not be any place for us to go see. As well as the trees would grow up around everything and it would be ruined. Both of them need to keep things in line so that nothing goes wrong with our power lines, and so that nothing goes wrong when there is a storm that may drop limbs on out houses or anything that would put us in danger.

This Venn diagram helped me to understand that the careers i choose, should be a lot of similar in the tasks and stuff that they do. If we just choose random careers, then it is completely pointless. I did architect and Technical Writer which only had things in common such as cooperation, tolerance, writing and drawing, and 3 years training with little education when starting.

Considering my chosen career was architect, and one of these ones that i chose for this cluster, everything was the same. However, both of my cluster careers had to do with putting something together on a house. I chose roofer which put shingles on to help the top part of the house, as to where an architect would build the house itself. Roofers and architects would tend to talk a lot about specks on the house and what kind of roof the roofer thinks that the architect should put on. During the summer, i roofed a house just me and my dad. it took us about 3 days to finish and we put shingles over the entire thing. I would enjoy either of these jobs but i think roofer would get old a lot quicker. Maybe i'll just roof as a summer job, or a side job. But i want architect to be my lifetime CAREER.

For my jobs in Human Services, I chose to do Nanny and Shampooers. These two careers may not have very much in common task wise, but they may in some other things. I find that both of these are basically summer jobs or mildly inexperienced individuals. MY chosen career is an architect, which could very easily be a lifetime career. Architect is a strong paying job that is family support worthy. If you were to choose one of the others careers that i chose in this cluster than i would be looking at more of a secondary job. I would be willing to do my career and work as a nanny or a babysitter just to give me some spending money to use on whatever it may be that brings me enjoyment. Somebody else may have two small jobs that are similar to these that may have few tasks and low pay and be able to get by with the necessities and not have a large sum of cash-flow to fulfill their random desires. If you were to decide that you wanted to be a shampooer and/or a nanny than you would have a relatively easy task of passing high school or maybe even just getting your GED. Then you could go into the low income, minor task job (that doesn't require an college or any other education for that matter) directly after high school. On the other hand, if you were to decide that you wanted to be an architect, as I have, than you would need much more education in the way of college and on the job training. The things that you will need in these human service careers that i have chosen also differ greatly in the way of advancements in technology. When being a shampooer the only thing that you may need is shampoo or any other type of bathing wash for any person or animals hair. When being a nanny you don't NEED much of anything. Some people may claim that you should have something in the vicinity of education disks and things that may help the child in succession and/or well being to carry out his or her life. Although, most nannies are not there to help the individual succeed but to watch them and make sure that they do not hurt themselves. While working in the field of architecture, the tools are far different from these two blow-off careers. While working as an architect you will use CAD (computer aided drafting) to follow along the guidelines of the person or persons that may be wanting some sort of structure that will fulfill their needs. You may also use some other type of computer/drawing technology that will draft and sketch the desire in which they want in the way of a building. If i were to work in one of these careers, i would never keep these as a career or as my main income job. I may very well have one of these when i am in college as a short lived JOB (not career) that will give me the money in which i can spend on the activities in which i choose to take part in.

True colors is what lies inside you that tell what you are. it tells which habits you will have and what personality you have. It basically sums up you personality in one word. I think that i am gold. Gold shows those who are hard working, on time and dependable. However, i may not always be organized. And i tend to lose things quite often

Now that we have taken this test i have realized that i am not a gold but i am an orange. I am spontaneous and witty. I make choices at a moments notice and am very eager to do so. I like to have a good time and not worry about a lot of things very often. I can tell what color other people are by what actions they take in school and what they do in their spare time.
